Practice Tracker
In 2000-2001, I worked with Matt Glynn, a below average shooter who became a 180 Shooter and a DIII All-American during his senior season at the University of Puget Sound. During his freshman season, Glynn injured his wrist and committed himself to becoming a better shooter. We worked out every day and he recorded every shot that he took. After each set, he wrote his performance in a notebook. He recorded every shot in every workout during his college career. His dedication and attention to detail made Glynn into a shot maker.
Designed by a former high school, college and professional coach, Practice Tracker replaces the old notebooks and provides a program that makes the information useful. Rather than recording information to keep details of each workout, PT gives players and coaches a program to use the data to track improvement and notice trends. The program helps coaches and players discover strengths and weaknesses through data, not just on-court evaluations. The program is useful for individual players looking to improve or coaches seeking to help their players develop the right practice habits to improve their shooting.
Players

- Organize individual practice records
- Measure improvement over time
- Use the 180 Shooter drills to design own workouts

- Use 180 Shooter drills to customize workouts for players
- Evaluate players' improvement over time
- Sort data by player, by drill, by day, by total shots and more
- Set benchmarks and goals
- Motivate through colored t-shirts which represent different levels of shooting success
Shot Tracker
Shot Tracker transforms a standard shot chart into a dynamic shot tracking tool to measure and evaluate your team throughout the season. After keeping a shot chart during a game (or practice), input the data into Shot Tracker and use the program to sort the data by game, by opponent, by player or more.
Shot Tracker
- Track shots from 15 different spots
- Track 3 types of shots (off the catch, dribble right and dribble left)
- Sort by area, by shot, by shot and area, by player and more
- Identify trends, like one player who shoots much better off a right-hand dribble than a left-hand dribble or a player who shoots great from the corner but not from the wing
- Find players' strengths and weaknesses and tailor plays and practice time accordingly
- Build a team's system around player's strengths
- Individualize shooting practice for players based on game performance
Together, Shot Tracker and Practice Tracker are tools to help coaches help their players shoot better and see more success on the court.

- After the player enters his or her results, the player and coach can access the results and sort the data by different categories to discover strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate improvement.
- Coaches can monitor players' off-season workouts and recommend drills to players based on the shots in the team's offensive system or give players a goal (200 shots made per week) and watch their progress online.
